1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owner. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — this policy covers all of them.
2. Who Sets Cookies?
Cookies on the Ryva Service are set either by us (first-party cookies) or by our trusted third-party partners (third-party cookies). Third parties may be able to recognise you across other websites you visit.
3. Legal Basis (EU / UK GDPR)
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the ePrivacy Directive ("Cookie Law"), we are required to obtain your freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device.
- Strictly Necessary cookies do not require consent as they are essential to deliver the Service you have requested.
- Functional, Analytics, and Marketing cookies require your prior consent. You may grant or withdraw consent at any time using the controls below or in your browser settings.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

5. Managing Your Preferences
5.1 Consent Banner
When you first visit the Service, a cookie consent banner allows you to accept, reject, or customise non-essential cookie categories. Your choices are stored and respected on subsequent visits.
5.2 Withdraw or Change Consent
You can update your preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Preferences" in the footer of any page. Your updated choices take effect immediately and previously set non-essential cookies will be deleted on your next page load.
5.3 Browser Controls
All major browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly. Links to browser cookie controls:
5.4 Opt-Out of Analytics
You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Cross-Border Transfers
Some of our third-party cookie providers (e.g., Google, Meta) transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. For details, refer to the privacy policies of the relevant third parties.
7. Retention of Consent Records
We keep a record of your cookie consent choices for 12 months or until you withdraw and update your preferences. This allows us to demonstrate compliance with our legal obligations under the GDPR.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our data practices. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide at least 14 days' notice via email or an in-app banner. We will re-request your consent where required by law.
9. Your Rights
As a data subject under the GDPR, you have rights including the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Cookie-related personal data is also covered by our Privacy Policy. To exercise your rights, contact hello@ryva.io.
